With the help of the web analysis software Awstats you have access to the web statistics of your web projects. For this purpose, AwStats evaluates the log files of the servers.
What is the point?
The analysis of your website visitors provides you with a lot of data with the help of which you can analyse and increase the success of your website. For example, you can find out from which website the most visitors come, in which time period the most visitors come and which articles are the most popular. If you find out, for example, that most visitors come to your website around 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and are interested in a certain topic, you can (e.g. if you run a blog) publish an article shortly before the rush, which will then be read by many readers.
Enable web statistics
In the default settings, the web statistics are deactivated. To activate them for your contract, please proceed as follows:
- Log in to the user panel.
- Click on “Webspace” in the “Hosting” area.
- If you have several hosting contracts with us, please select the contract on the left for which you would like to activate the web statistics.
- In the box with the heading “Web space properties”, click on Edit in the item Web statistics.
- In the Domain field, please select a URL under which you would like to view the web statistics later. (the URL for the web statistics will later look like this: myurl.com/.stats/)
- So that not everyone can view your statistics, please then select a user name and password. You will be asked for this data if you want to view the statistics.
- When you have entered all the data, please complete the setup by clicking on “Save”.
Done. Your analysis will be prepared the next night.
