In this article we will explain how to install LiveConfig. For this we use the installation via the repository on a Debian system. For a manual installation or when using a different operating system, please refer to the Liveconfig manual.
Requirement
The requirement for installing Liveconfig is a minimal installation of Debian. It is not necessary that PHP, Apache and MySQL are already installed. Before you start, you should make sure that your system is up to date. Therefore, please run the commands apt update and apt upgrade and install any updates.
Installation
Quota
In order to be able to check the occupied storage space of web hosting contracts on the web server, quota must be installed on the server. To do this, use the following command:
apt install quota
Next, the quota must be activated. Unfortunately, this can only be done by the administrator for vServers virtualised with Virtuozzo/OpenVZ. If you are using a server that has been virtualised using OpenVZ or Virtuozzo, please contact your support.
Without quota, no web space limits can be set up and you will not receive any information about the number and size of files occupied by a client.
On a server with ext3/ext4 file systems, add the options grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0 to the /etc/fstab file, such as
UUID=[...] / ext4 errors=remount-ro,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0 0 1
After that, the file system must be remounted
mount -vo remount <file system>
followed by the calculation of the quota allocation by means of
quotacheck -vgm <file system>
Finally, quota can be activated with the following command
quotaon -vg <file system>
After activating quota, you should test the file system quota. To do this, use the command repquota -ag .
Installing LiveConfig
For the installation of LiveConfig, the use of the installation script is recommended. To do this, execute the following command
wget -O- https://install.liveconfig.com | sh
This command adds the GPG key and the repository of LiveConfig to your system, optionally installs the liveconfig-meta package and finally installs the liveconfig package. Please follow the instructions of the installation script.
After LiveConfig has been installed, open a browser of your choice and open the address of your LiveConfig server in it. If you have kept the default settings in the configuration file, the address is: https://<your-server-IP>:8443/. If you have already configured a DNS name, you can of course also use this. The URL for your LiveConfig server will then be https://<your-sub-domain.com>:8443/.
