locate | Fast search of files by means of the locatedb database |
whereis | Search of programs in predefined directories |
which | Locates a program which is located in the PATH |
File and directory commands

ls | Lists all directories (show content of a directory) |
cd | With the command cd you change the directory |
cp | Copy a file or directory |
mv | Move or rename a file |
chmod | Change access rights of a file or directory |
chown | Use this command to change the owner and group of a file or directory |
diff | The diff command allows you to compare the contents of two files line by line |
df | Displays the free space of all mounted drives |
du | Displays the memory consumption of a directory |
