The registrar lock of a domain is a lock that is automatically set by the registries for a domain. If this lock is active, a domain cannot be transferred. A registrar lock exists, for example, for the domain extensions: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info.
This security mechanism serves to protect your domain, as it cannot be transferred to another provider without the knowledge of the domain holder.
If a domain has the status “REG LOCK” (this is the term for an active transfer lock at the registries) it is not possible for a foreign provider to take over this domain. If you would like to transfer your domain with an active transfer lock to another provider, please contact our support so that the lock can be lifted.
